| Name: | Morgana |
|---|---|
| Location: | Canada |
Character Demographics:
Fandom: Merlin
Name: Morgana
Age: 23/24
Physical Appearance: Tall for a girl, around 5’8” or so, with a distinctly Celtic appearance. She’s got long dark, black hair, usually worn in curls. Her eyes are very light blue and full of passion. Morgana is a beautiful woman, who is attired in the royal clothing which the king has made for her.
Education: She started off with a nurse when she was quite little, then moving on to a governess. Morgana was always an inquisitive child. The governess was scared from the post at the way young Morgana could easily predict things which shouldn’t be predictable by a human girl. Afterwards, she’d just had tutors, of the same sort that Arthur later had. Including the people teaching her swordwork.
Occupation: The Ward of King Uther Pendragon of Camelot
Significant Other: None
Sexual Preference: Heterosexual
Character Biography:
History: Morgana was born in Camelot to Tristan, brother of Igraine – who was the wife of King Uther and the eventual mother of Arthur – and Elaine, but Uther sent them away from Camelot to take care of a border-castle when she was two. When Morgana was four, while Igraine was pregnant with Arthur, her mother died. Her father spent a lot of time with his sister, and Morgana was completely free to roam about the castle as she pleased. She was intensely inquisitive, asking everyone what each thing was, how it worked, and most importantly, why it happened to work that way. The thing that baffled people most about her was the lack of shock she had regarding her mother’s death. She insisted whenever people asked her that she had been prepared for it, without any other explanation than that. Who would listen to a four year old who said she dreamt things that would happen anyway? Even at four, Morgana knew how things worked. If you couldn’t explain them in a manner someone else would understand, keep it to yourself. During the time her father spent with his sister, Morgana spent a lot of it with King Uther. He taught her to ride, answered her onslaught of questions, no matter how inconsequential or ridiculous they were. And sometimes they were. Other times they were bafflingly insightful for so young a child. Sometimes even Gaius, the court physician, would answer the more scientific of her questions. After a while, her father came, too. Later that year, Arthur was born while his mother died. When her aunt died, her father was in a rage, blaming Uther for everything, and dueling him. Morgana knew how it would end before her father even challenged the king to a duel. It didn’t stop her from being sad, but it did stop her from being surprised by not only the challenge, but the outcome. She continued to grow up under Uther’s care as his ward due to a promise that he made to her father before their argument.
Morgana was raised in the court, starting with a governess. She ran the governess from her care when she was entirely too insightful and aware of the world for the governess’ liking. Little girls shouldn’t know the weather patterns so well. Or the exact day on which her horse would die.
After that, Morgana was given the same tutors which would go to Arthur. She was a bright child, and a good student, at both scholarly and fighting duties. She learned to fight and even played swords with Arthur when they were little. She always beat him.
She grew into a gorgeous woman, whom most of the court believed was being groomed to be the queen to Arthur’s eventual King. She has innate Seeing Powers which Gaius has been trying to suppress for her own good for years. She takes sleeping drafts for a dreamless sleep and still dreams of things. Her best friend is her hand maiden, Guinevere. She values Merlin as a friend and trusts him. She also believes in Arthur’s good heart, even if she teases him in a sisterly fashion. Morgana does not think of him in a romantic manner. He’s basically her little brother, however having grown up together, she realizes what presumably could happen with her and Arthur eventually being married to one another.
Personality in seven words or less: strong, inquisitive, bright, emotional, removed
How Others Perceive Your Character: The people of Camelot perceive her as a good member of the nobility. She tries to help them whenever possible, for instance when she and Guin take from the castle kitchen to feed the peasants. The nobility sees her as a beautiful, strong woman.
Beliefs, Convictions, Morals: She believes in helping the people of Camelot, as well as those in need. She does not see the innate evil of magic that Uther does, especially as she is most likely latently magical.
Reason(s) for Escaping to Canada: She and King Uther went on a quest for Nimueh to find the missing crown prince and his loyal servant. Somehow she lands in modern day Canada due to Nimueh’s magic.
Their DHAs [Dreams, Hopes, and Aspirations] for Canada: To find Arthur and Merlin, and Uther as well
